Indian psychiatric society Andhra Pradesh state branch is an organization established in 1981. The members of society are psychiatrists working for private and government, psychologists, psychology social workers, psychiatry training residents.
Indian psychiatric society Andhra Pradesh state branch is a non-profit organization. The society conducts educational conferences every year and registration are charged. Leftover funds after the conferences are used for academic, research, and social welfare activities.
Andhra Pradesh is a southern state of India, recently divided by statute into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The current Archives of mental health is a continuation of the previous journal AP journal of Psychological Medicine that was indexed with Scopus.
The Archives of mental health journal is to promote research in Psychiatry. The journal accepts articles related to fields of psychiatry, psychiatry, social work, psychology. The main audience of the journal are psychiatrists, training residents in psychiatry. The journal receives articles from national and international authors in psychiatry related fields. The journal is open-access journal and does not charge any fee for processing and publishing. The contents of the journal are available on website www.amhonline.org

Archives of Mental Health, a publication of Indian Psychiatric Society-Andhra Pradesh Branch, is a peer-reviewed print + online Semiannual journal. The journal's full text is available online at www.amhonline.org. The journal was previously published as ‘Andhra Pradesh Journal of Psychological Medicine’ and has changed its name to ‘Archives of Mental Health’ with 2018 issues. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. 

The journal is indexed in UGC CARE List Group II.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

The journal will cover technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in field of Psychiatry, Psychology, Mental health, Behavioral medicine / sciences, Neuroscience, Medicine. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference.
